In the event of default, the Society may exercise its right to close your account early in accordance with the General
Investment Conditions (Ireland).
Leeds Building Society directly imposes a range of fees and charges, which are detailed in the General Investment Account Tariff of Fees and Charges (Ireland) in the General Investment Conditions (Ireland). Leeds Building Society is a participant in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme established under the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000. Payments under this scheme are limited to a maximum of £85,000 of an investor's total shares and/or deposits in a society. Most investors are covered, including individuals and small firms. If at any time your mortgage account unfortunately goes into arrears, Leeds Building Society will deal fairly with all customers and is committed to making early contact to discuss the matter. We will use reasonable efforts to reach a payment arrangement, which takes into account all parties interests and give customers a reasonable period of time to consider any proposal for payment which is made. Leeds Building Society will also liaise with advice agencies if so asked, and will adopt a reasonable approach to the time over which any outstanding payments should be paid back. Possession will only be taken as a last resort, after all reasonable attempts to change the position have failed.
